Dr Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences and holds secondary appointment in the Division of Rheumatology of the Department of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Liu is interested in applying advanced epidemiological methods to non-experimental data to assess the effectiveness of treatments. His current research focuses on clinical outcomes research that involve measurements of patient-reported outcomes and physical activity as well as applications of quantitative methods to improve quality of care for patients with inflammatory arthritis. His current work focuses on the interplay between gender and sex in understanding health quality of life among patients with axial spondyloarthritis among patients with axial spondyloarthritis as well as postoperative care among patients who had joint replacement surgery.
